Exciting News: Grand Opening of Our New Learning Spaces
By Dr. Robert Motte, Superintendent
Monessen School District is proud to announce another major step forward in our New Modern Monessen initiative—transforming classrooms and learning areas into innovative spaces that inspire creativity, collaboration, and future-ready skills.
On Wednesday, October 23rd, we invite all families, students, staff, and community members to join us for the Grand Opening of our newly designed learning hubs at both the Elementary School and High School.
At Monessen Elementary School
-
Little Hound Hub – a vibrant media and collaboration center where our youngest Greyhounds can explore reading, research, and teamwork.
-
New STEAM Lab – a hands-on space for science, technology, engineering, art, and math projects that nurture problem-solving and creativity.
-
Elementary TV Production Studio – giving students an early opportunity to practice communication, broadcasting, and media creation.
At Monessen Middle/
High School
-
Hound Hub – a central space for collaboration, technology integration, and student support.
-
Greyhound Studios – our new hub for TV production and music production, where students can create, record, and share original content.
-
E-Games Lab – a modern space dedicated to competitive e-gaming, teamwork, and career exploration in the growing world of esports.
These additions are more than just new rooms—they are gateways to opportunity. From developing problem-solving skills in STEAM to producing their own broadcasts in Greyhound Studios, our students now have expanded ways to learn, lead, and prepare for success in the world beyond our schools.
We hope you will join us on October 23rd to explore these new spaces, celebrate our students’ opportunities, and see the future of learning right here in Monessen.
Together, we are building the New Modern Monessen—where students don’t just learn, they thrive.
